Japanese Students To Visit Iowa | Arts & Culture
Title (Max 100 Characters)
Valley High School will host students and educators from Japan for a special forum.
Twenty students from our sister state, Yamanashi, Japan will visit with students from Central Iowa. Their discussions will center on comparisons of student life in each country.
Organizers hope the students will be able to learn from one another and begin to think on a more global scale.
The 20 Yamanashi students will also spend a morning teaching the Japanese art of origami paper folding to the 5th grades classes at Des Moines Capitol View School.
The students will be staying with Central Iowa families while they visit.
