Central Iowa Shelter & Services announced this week that they are working with Bell Brothers Heating & Air Conditioning to collect warm clothing and bedding for shelter residents.
“With the mild weather that Des Moines has been experiencing, it is easy to forget it is still winter,” said Tony Timm, executive direct of CISS. “Winter is when our shelter has the most need of donations. We are grateful for Bell Brothers’ support.”
Bell Brothers launched “Spread the Warmth” a campaign that gives customers $10 off all furnace maintenance calls and donating $5 from each call to CISS through February and March. In addition, Bell Brothers is asking its customers to donate warm weather clothing and bedding.
“It’s easy to take a working furnace for granted,” said Chuck Gassmann, president of Bell Brothers. “With so many in our community who are in need of warmth, we hope to rally our customers to make a difference in people’s lives and get them through the tough winter months.”
