Vatterott has announced that it is adding a new Wind Energy Technician program at its Des Moines campus.
“Wind energy is such a booming industry right now, especially in Iowa,” said Joy Jasper, campus director of Vatterot College in Des Moines. “According to the American Wind Energy Association, Iowa has the second highest number of wind capacity installations in the country with over 14,000 in line for future installations. That’s why the new program is great for the Des Moines area.”
The new program will cover topics ranging from environmental and department energy regulations to mechanical systems and wind turbine installation and maintenance.
Students graduating from the program will be qualified to work as a technician or even in manufacturing, project development, operation and maintenance.
