Adoptive Parents Honored

Adoptive Parents Honored
A Des Moines couple received national recognition for their work as foster parents. Allonna and Damien Stovall were designated 2012 Angels in Adoption by Senator Chuck Grassley and the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute in Washington. The Stovalls raised seven children, four of which were adopted. Of the four who were adopted three were siblings that the Stovalls kept from being separated by adopting all of them. “Parents who foster and adopt children are nothing short of extraordinary,” Grassley said. “With selfless generosity and commitment, they make the difference in the lives of children who do not have homes or loving families." The Stovalls join more than 100 Angels around the country in the program aimed at raising awareness of children in need of a safe and loving adoptive family.
