CANCER CARE: Mercy Receives Commendation | Health
Des Moines’ Mercy Cancer Center at Mercy Medical Center has been recognized for its work this week.
The Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) granted the center a three-year accreditation with commendation.
The accreditation shows that the care exceeds the requirements of a full cancer program in the areas of cancer committee leadership, cancer data management, clinical services, research, community outreach and quality improvement.
“Receiving accreditation with commendation from the CoC shows Mercy Cancer Center’s commitment to patient care, research and survivorship for cancer patients,” said Mercy Cancer Center Medical Director Dr. Richard Deming in a press release. “Every patient we serve should feel confident they are receiving the most comprehensive cancer care available. Mercy Cancer Center work tirelessly to make advances in care treatments and technology available to our patients.”
