Street Closure Notices for September 26 and 27
The City of Des Moines has issued the following street closure warnings:
September 26
- Watson Powell Jr. Way from 4th Street to 5th Avenue will be closed from 6:00 to 9:00 pm on Monday for crane set up.
- SE 17th Court from Indianola Avenue to the west 100’ will be closed to traffic for two days. The closure is necessary for the Indianola Avenue widening project utility work.
September 27
- Water Street from Court Avenue to 150 feet south of Court Avenue will be closed starting Tuesday for three days, weather permitting. The closure is necessary for a city sewer project.
Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in these areas. Obey all signs, leave ample space between vehicles, and wear seatbelts. Moving violations in construction zones are at least doubled.
