Downtown Skywalks Gets Makeover | News
The skywalks in Downtown Des Moines will be getting a new look after a project by Operation Downtown.
A skywalk improvement committee evaluated the skywalk and has made efforts to clean carpets, clean windows or replace them, paint walls and fix leaking roofs.
The work doesn’t stop there. The committee will also decorate the halls with murals and artwork in 19 different locations through the skywalk system.
The goal is to have the skywalk system prepped before the Iowa Caucuses but the committee assures that work will continue to be done to preserve this important landmark of Downtown Des Moines.
