FIRE DEATH: Man Died Of Smoke Inhalation

The Polk County Medical Examiner says a man found dead in a burning apartment on Thursday died from smoke inhalation.

Firefighters were called to 2200 Stanton around 11:25 a.m. Thursday after a resident of the building noticed smoke in the hallway. Firefighters say when they entered the apartment where the fire originated they found 65-year-old David Robinson dead in a chair in the living room.

The fire was located in a back bedroom of the apartment. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Several other tenants were forced out of the building due to smoke damage.
