CAR CRASH: Driver In Critical Condition | News
A man is in critical condition following an overnight accident in Des Moines.
Police say they were called to SW 12th and Davis around 1:45 Thursday morning about a vehicle that had struck a tree. The only occupant of the vehicle, 22-year-old Jacob Gothard was transferred to a local hospital. Officials say he is in critical but stable condition.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated but police say speed may have played a part.
Samples were taken from Gothard to determine if he was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the time of the accident. Results of those tests are still pending.
