COUNTERFEIT CASH: Two Men Arrested | News

Police arrested two Des Moines men for using fake money at a metro Burger King Tuesday.

Employees called officers about the counterfeit $10 bill Tuesday afternoon.

At the restaurant, police checked to see if the two men involved had warrants and found out 24-year-old Tony Spencer was wanted for failure to pay child support.

While police were checking Spencer’s background, he took off running. At an intersection nearby, he tripped and hit his head on a car at the stop light. Spencer was admitted to the hospital with serious head trauma, but is expected to be okay.

Police say he’ll face a forgery charge for passing the fake bill.

28 year old David Fuller of Des Moines is the other man involved.

He’s also charged with forgery and interference with officials acts.

Police are investigating to see if the men are connected to several other recent counterfeit cases.
