One man is in jail after a stolen car wrecked and caught on fire early Friday morning.
Police were called to 2nd Avenue near Wells Fargo Arena just after 2 a.m.
They found a blue Camaro on fire. The car was reported stolen from 1112 Johnson Street.
It was not clear if anyone was in the car when police and firefighters arrived. Once crews put out the fire, they found the car empty.
Shortly after the crash, Dain Ring showed up at the Savory Hotel saying he was assaulted. Police say they knew that wasn’t true because he had his mustache burned off.
Ring admitted to police that he had been a passenger in the stolen vehicle but he did not tell them who was driving.
Ring was charged with public intoxication and is being held in the Polk County Jail.
