Most people frown on “regifting” but this year that is exactly what the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines wants you to do.

The organization has created the “giving card”. The buyer pre-loads the card with money, the recipient then decides how the money is spent.

It can go to any 501(c)(3) organization, non-profits such as the United Way, Red Cross or Pet Project Midwest.

“It makes it really easy for non-profits like us to get the funds into our account and be able to start using them and doing good.” says Courtney Tompkins.

People have purchased more than 250 giving cards worth $20,000 since the program launched a year ago.
