DONATIONS NEEDED: Helping Seniors Keep Aviary | News

Our viewers are helping out a group of seniors who were about to lose an aviary they came to love.

The Rose of East Des Moines Assisted Living Center is trying to raise $4,000.

They were loaned an aviary full of finches and the residents fell in love with the birds, but in order to keep it they need to come up with the money. The seniors say they want to keep the birds but living on fixed incomes is making it difficult.

Since our story first aired Tuesday night, cash donations have poured in along with calls promising the check is in the mail.
