ASSAULT CASE: Roosevelt Student Hurt
Des Moines police are investigating an attack on a Roosevelt High School student.
The police report says the 16-year-old was assaulted Monday afternoon near Chamberlain Avenue and 42nd Street. Officials say an unknown male in his 20s tripped the teen then punched him in the face several times, knocking him out.
A friend of the victim told police the incident was gang related.
Reports are that the student has been released from the hospital.
Police say there are no suspects in the case.
