HOUSE FIRE: Des Moines Home Damaged
Firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire in the attic of a Des Moines home.
Crews were called to the 3000 block of First Street just after 2 p.m. on Monday.
Officials say firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a fire in the attic of the two-story home.
Everyone in the house was able to get out safely and the Red Cross is now assisting the 8 adults and 6 children who live in the home.
Damage is estimated at $5,000.
