TEEN SHOOTING: Misdemeanor Charge | News
A Des Moines teenager will face charges after he shot his friend in the shoulder, last weekend.
The Des Moines Register reports the 13-year old will be charged with discharging a firearm within the city limits, a simple misdemeanor.
Police say the boy shot another 13-year old at a southside home last Saturday.
The owner of the home, 65 year old Dennis Yohe, shot and killed himself the next day. Police believe he was worried he would be punished for allowing the kids access to his eight guns.
The maximum penalty for the unnamed teenager is 30 days in juvenile detention and a fine.
