Southeast Connector Construction | Transportation
A celebration to kickoff continuing construction of the Southeast connector is planned. The 2.1 mile extension of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway from Southeast 15th Street to Southeast 30th Street will begin Wednesday following a groundbreaking ceremony at 9:30 a.m.
Mayor Frank Cownie will give brief remarks, finishing with the wave of a flag that will signal the heavy machinery to commence demolition.
More details of the project will be announced at the event, which will take place in the 1600 block of Scott Avenue.
